Madonna fans! On August 16th, we’ll be celebrating The Queen of Pop’s Birthday and we want for you all to join the party!
Back in September 2013, Madonna launched her Art For Freedom platform for all of us to share our own definition of Freedom but also to encourage creative expression that brings awareness to human rights violations. With thousands of submissions, (including photos, videos, music and poetry) the project has grown into a strong online community fighting for the universal right to be free.
Since the initiative is a cause close to Madonna’s heart, we would like for you to wish her a Happy Birthday by adding your stone to the Freedom building! To do so, just visit http://www.artforfreedom.com before August 15 at 11am EST and submit a picture that illustrates your own vision of what our world should be all about if we all had the same rights and freedom to be who we are. The picture can be a portrait, a landscape, a selfie, or whatever you think it should be. Make sure to include a description and feel free to add your Birthday message for Madonna as part of it.
On August 16th, we invite you to post your submitted picture to your favorite social network(s), using the #MadonnaDay and #ArtForFreedom hashtags for your friends, fellow Madonna fans, our girl herself and the whole world to see! Some of Madonna’s favorite pics will be highlighted on artforfreedom.com and/or be mailed branded goodies
Happiness, love, joy, peace, etc,.. Let’s make your picture something that will bring a smile to Madonna’s face and make her feel we are all one on her special day!
She came to my house again and we worked together.
She’s extremely demanding and she knows what she wants, but at the same time she’s a sweet person to work with.
I remember working on W.E., it was my biggest adventure.

In news that’s sure to make all of Madonna’s past producers jealous, Diplo just revealed he got Madonna to re-record the vocals to one of her ’80s classics in the midst of working on her upcoming album. Even cooler? She changed the lyrics to sing about him. Yes, Diplo is one of the luckiest people on the planet.
Madge sang new vocals for the “True Blue” single “La Isla Bonita,” changing the lyrics to, “Last night I dreamt of Major Lazer” (which is one of Diplo’s side projects). Diplo showed off the recording on an episode of the British series “Superstar DJs,” which premieres tomorrow on BBC’s Channel 4.
When he plays the track for host Annie Mac, she understandably loses it. Apparently being a “slave driver” while working on her new album is the best way to win her respect.
Diplo isn’t the only one manning the boards on Madge’s latest. She also hit the studio with Avicii back in March, which means her brand of dance-pop might be taking an EDM turn on her upcoming record.
Elly Jackson has gushed that Madonna made sexuality artistic, but she thinks many pop stars now get naked for the attention and not the art.
The queen of pop changed the way sexuality was viewed when she released her coffee table book Sex in 1992, which featured provocative and graphic images.
She also revolutionised stage costumes when she debuted her Jean Paul Gaultier cone corset during her 1990 Blond Ambition tour. Unfortunately The La Roux singer thinks Madonna’s original message has been lost amongst today’s pop stars.
“She made it artistic and she knew exactly what she was doing,” Elly explained to British newspaper Metro. “Now I feel it’s often just an excuse to get attention.
“I’m sure if I stripped naked and released a video, a million people would watch it as well – purely to go, what the HELL, La Roux’s naked? Not because they thought it was hot, just because it was shocking. It’s a cheap way to get mention, and it’s too easy.”
Elly is known for her edgy androgynous style, and her short quiffed hair style has influenced many of her fans to copy it.
While the 26-year-old has nothing against music stars shedding their cloths while performing, she does wish it wasn’t done in front of their young fans.
“Female pop stars can do whatever they want – I’m not telling them to go inside and put their clothes on. It’s about saying that if women do want to take their clothes off, can we just not aim it at seven-year-olds? That’s my only point,” she sighed.

It looks like beauty company Hard Candy won’t be backing down anytime soon in its lawsuit against Madonna for copyright infringement and unfair competition.
Instead, the company his filed court documents that claim the “Material Girl” won’t appear for a deposition unless she is ordered to by the court, RadarOnline.com can reveal exclusively.
Filed on July 15, the documents state that Florida-based Hard Candy would like to question Madonna about her role in any business decisions, but it claims that “[Madonna] will not be produced without court order.”
As Radar previously reported, Hard Candy is suing the “Vogue” singer because it claims she and Guy Oseary stole the company’s name to sell their own fitness apparel and DVDs in 2011.
But Madonna requested a judge dismiss the case because she and her lawyers claim the Florida courts have no jurisdiction over her Delaware-based business. She also wants the case dropped because she also claimed she had no involvement in any business decisions.

After being asked which pop stars she feels have incorporated elements of Burlesque successfully into their performances, Dita Von Teese says…
“Madonna is one of the only popstars ever in history… if you watch her career, she’s smart, she knows her research. Every persona she has taken on she’s translated to the very heights of where it could go. I don’t see anybody in modern pop music that can really do that. When I look at Madonna, I see that she gets every detail correct, and she has a good team too, but it takes someone’s leading at the top to really arrive to that.
That’s why when I see pop shows I’m like ‘oh wow this isn’t very interesting’, you know, Madonna was wearing Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture on stage in the 90s.”
When asked if she listens to the radio, she quickly replies…
“I don’t listen to anything on the radio. I don’t think there’s any good music being played on the radio. There’s such an industry now and so policitcal of what gets played..
I don’t hear anything [on the radio today] that’s relative to Prince, David Bowie, and Madonna. Stuff that really stands the test of time. I don’t…”
